The Lakeview amphitheater sits directly on the water outside Syracuse, which gives it an open setting and a distinct microclimate. It is a standard shed layout — covered seating, open lawn — on a Friday in the third week of September.
Upstate New York at that point in the year is firmly into autumn. Daytime can still be pleasant; nights are not.
Air moving off the lake pulls temperature down faster than inland venues once the sun sets, and mist off the water is common on clear September nights. It is one of the two or three coldest dates on the remaining schedule despite being nowhere near the latest.
Lakeside venues run colder than the forecast for the city suggests. If you are on the lawn on this date, plan for a genuinely cold second half of the evening.
